Foster Parent Trainer (PRN Contract)

Job Description:

  • Provide high-quality training to new parents using our designated pre-service curriculum and seasoned parents seeking recertification using our designated ongoing-training curriculum

  • Meet with one to multiple parents in a predetermined setting and deliver a training between one and four hours. 

  • Must be willing to learn all applicable technology platforms to administer trainings at the office and in the community.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to travel and train in one or more of the following locations and surrounding areas, please specify:

    • Sidney, Springfield, Troy, Dayton, Hillsboro

  • Provide high quality training

  • At times, coordinate common times/places with foster parents

  • Be open to continual feedback and learning

  • Complete needed paperwork (ie. log hours, log foster parent hours, provide certificates)

Job Description:

PRN - Contract Therapist

  • Applies social service knowledge to collaborate in developing individual service plans for foster youth

  • Provides direct therapy sessions to children in foster care in the following settings: (foster home, school, and/or community)

  • Coordinating with various public agencies (county children's services, courts, schools), as well as doctors and other mental health providers

  • PRN - Contract Position with potential for growing into part-time and full-time

Job Requirements:

  • Committed to continual therapeutic growth and understanding of children with traumatic backgrounds as well as skills in supporting foster families in providing the best care

  • Associates/Bachelors/Masters in Social Work/Counseling or related degree (psychology, counseling, human services, public health, mental health, criminal justice, education, sociology, etc.)

  • Must be able to work independently. Will have weekly connection with supervisor.

  • Potential opportunities to provide training to foster parents

  • Prior experience in billing Medicaid

  • Specify if licensed: LSW/LISW, LPC/LPCC

  • Valid driver's license

  • Reliable transportation

  • Prior child welfare experience preferred but not required

Job Description:

Case Specialist

  • Applies social service knowledge to develop individualized service plans for foster youth

  • Provides case management and supportive services (including interventions for children in foster care and the foster families)

  • Networking and partnering with various public agencies (county children's services, courts, schools), as well as doctors and mental health providers

  • Participation in individual and group discussions/trainings on best-practice care for foster youth and families

  • Writing monthly reports and incident reports

  • Full-time salaried

Job Requirements:

  • Committed to continual therapeutic growth and understanding of children with traumatic backgrounds as well as skills in supporting foster families in providing the best care

Job Description:

Licensing Specialist

  • Be or become a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Licensed Assessor

  • Complete the duties of an initial licensor

    • Assist in the screening of foster parents and in the orientation and training of prospective foster parents as necessary​

  • Complete the duties of internal investigations of foster parents and distribute rule violations and corrective action plans as necessary

  • Complete the duties of of preparing for yearly audits by state governing board and accreditation bodies

  • Complete the duties of rectifying foster parents licensure

We believe in best utilizing people's strengths and interests to increase the quality of care to our foster parents. The following tasks and responsibilities can be applied to this position. Preference will not be given to those with multiple interests, but will be highly considered:

  • Licensing specialists often help plan and execute the marketing and recruitment strategy of the agency

  • Provide pre-service and ongoing training. See PRN contract job description for more information

  • Provide minimal case specialist duties. See Case Specialist job description 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field

  • Valid Ohio LSW or LPC required

  • Certified Adoption Assessor in Ohio

  • Knowledge and proven work experience in the Foster Care field

  • Strong clinical skills including expertise in systemic family therapy, crisis intervention, family education, behavioral interventions, and substance abuse therapy

  • Able to work flexible schedule to meet the needs of clients and parents

  • Prior experience is treatment foster care setting

  • Able to work constructively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office

  • Experience in SACWIS preferred

  • Clear background check

  • Reliable transportation

  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance coverage the meets agency requirements
