Therapist - 
Child Advocacy Center at Isaiah’s Place

Job Description:

​The therapist is responsible for providing direct therapeutic services to victims of child sexual abuse, trauma, and other Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and their families in crisis and on an ongoing basis. This position involves working as a member of the multidisciplinary team at the Child Advocacy Center. The therapist is trained in evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches to address the trauma, mental health and other clinical issues clients may present. The therapist is responsible for developing and maintaining a client-focused, children’s advocacy-based mental health practice that supports the mission of the Child Advocacy Center at Isaiah’s Place.


  • ​ Provide trauma-focused counseling and therapy services for children and families 

  • Upon acceptance of counseling services, complete an initial intake and create an individual treatment plan for each client

  • Attend and participate in monthly case review meetings

  • Update case tracking system with counseling information and maintain accurate and timely case notes and record of client contacts

  • Provide court testimony as needed

  • Facilitate linkages and referrals as a liaison with other service providers and community agencies to ensure client continuity of care

  • Provide accurate statistical reports as needed

  • Work closely with other Multidisciplinary team members to provide support and knowledge in mental health as children and families navigate the investigative process

  • Comply with all grant-related guidelines and requirements

  • Consistently demonstrate professional behavior and leadership skills that are in support of the mission, vision, and philosophy of the Child Advocacy Center

  • Participate in continuing education and opportunities for skill enhancement and professional development through clinical supervision

  • Other duties as assigned by Program Director


  • Master’s degree in social work, Counseling or a related field is required

  • LSW, LISW or LPCC preferred

  • Must maintain all licenses and credentials

  • Minimum 1-year (preferred) experience providing professional counseling to children and families

  • Knowledge of child abuse, trauma and the impact to children and families preferred

  •  Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Training and experience in delivering TF-CBT and other evidence-based treatment modalities preferred

Job Types: Full time

Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour commensurate with experience
